Artist Statement & Bio
John Black an American visual artist/creator based out of NYC, born in southern West Virginia. Focusing on communication between energy and motion. He is currently creating abstract artworks that develop into a language throughout color study and formations. The work allows a sense of meditation through techniques and methods. The current works are heavily influenced by Native American and African roots. These influences allow the artist to connect with his ancestors and to convey pieces of history, in the hopes of relaying emotion and pushing conversation on heritage.
